Second graders give advice to help with water shortage
This week G2 students did “See/Think/Give advice or a tip/我看到 Wǒ kàn dào/我想到 Wǒ xiǎng dào/我的建议 Wǒde jiànyì” activity” by looking at the “China’s thirst for water” map. Here is a couple of recommendations from some of them! I love their creativity and kind heart!
Home-made calligraphy brush
Last week G1 reviewed “The 4 treasures of study”: 毛笔 māo bǐ – brush, 纸 zhǐ – paper, 墨 mò -inkstick, 砚台 yàn tái – ink stone. Their assignment was to create a brush from any materials they choose. Check out brushes made by Jesse!

Learning seasons, writing words
Our Pre-K and preschool currently are learning seasons in Mandarin. They use colors to describe each season, share their most and least favorite seasons, and practice their writing skills!
Make a portrait!
Our 3d Graders are learning body parts in Chinese. They can use simple sentences to describe a person and sing “头,肩膀,膝盖,脚” – Head and shoulders, knees and toes in Mandarin. Last week they made portraits of each other following the teachers sentences in Chinese.
